Scrummi towels are once again donating their services to Crisis at Christmas, following
a successful partnership in 2012.
The ethical eco-towel company will be donating a stash of towels to Crisis at Christmas centres, who are providing homeless adults with a warm, safe place to stay over the festive season. As well as providing hot food, healthcare and companionship, the centres are also offering hair and beauty treatments to pamper those who need it most this December.
Lydia Tobin of Crisis thanked Scrummi for their donation saying: "For eight days over Christmas, donations of resources enable us to set up 10 temporary centres where 8,000 volunteers will prepare more than 30,000 meals (including a full Christmas dinner) and provide over 40 services encompassing accommodation, healthcare and dental consultations and treatments, employment and housing advice, sports and arts activities, haircuts, and massages.
"We are grateful to Scrummi for providing fantastic disposable towels in 2012 and 2013."
Crisis is once again appealing for volunteer hairdressers to donate their time and skills over the festive period. Qualifications to volunteer with the salon team are not always necessary, but people who sign up must be enthusiastic and excited by the prospect of providing these very special services to Crisis guests.
Volunteers are able to apply
online or alternatively by calling 0300 636 1000.
