New research around salon topics of conversation suggests that weekend plans, relationships and kids are the unsurprising most talked-about topics.
The survey revealed that 92% of women chatted to their hairdresser about their weekend plans, 67% discussed relationships and 35% talked about their kids.
But it's not just lighthearted chats that take place in the salon - 11% of women were open about finances and 23% wanted advice about major life events.
More than one in ten admitted to being more open with their hairdresser than with their partner – with 12% of the women polled admitting that they were more likely to confide in their stylist than with their husband or boyfriend.
One woman who took part in the survey said: "I’ve known my hairdresser for so long now she has become one of my best friends.
"I would say we are very open with each other. We talk about anything and everything whether that’s bitching about our husbands or what was on TV the other night.
"I would definitely say there are some things that I talk to her about which I don’t tell my husband – particularly if it’s gossip which involves his mates."
