Salon Software Company Launches New ‘IQ Tipping’ Solution for Hair Salons

Provider of salon software solutions, SalonIQ has launched a new feature designed to transform the way customers express gratitude to their stylists and beauty therapists.

The new IQ Tipping solution allows clients to easily tip using their credit or debit cards, ensuring professionals receive 100 per cent of their tips directly into their bank accounts the same day. This launch comes shortly after the implementation of the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act, a significant new law ensuring all tips, gratuities, and service charges are passed on in full to the workers who earn them.

The legislation aims to eliminate unacceptable tipping practices and requires employers to distribute tips without any deductions, allowing workers to take claims to employment tribunals if employers fail to comply.

IQ Tipping empowers salons and beauty professionals to adopt fair and transparent tipping practices, allowing clients to quickly tap their cards at the end of their appointment. They can select their desired tip amount, which is then securely processed and sent directly to the service provider’s bank account.

Sam Kendell, Chief Operating Officer at SalonIQ, said: “Our IQ Tipping solution is a game-changer for both customers and beauty professionals. With the new tipping laws in place, we believe in empowering hair and beauty professionals to enhance their earnings while providing clients with a seamless and satisfying experience. This innovative feature reflects our commitment to supporting the hair and beauty industry in adapting to changing consumer behaviours.”

Built by salon owners for salon owners, SalonIQ was introduced to market in 2013. Designed to leverage the true power of technology to improve operations, engagement and overall business growth within the hair and beauty industry, today SalonIQ is driven by a team of more than 30 industry specialists, providing comprehensive support, education and business advice to over 2,500 salons.
