A brave salon manager put his hair in the hands of a total stranger at a charity fundraising event, resulting in a dramatic finish - which is unlikely to be copied by clients!

Chris Plum of Spargo Hairdressing, Brentwood, had been growing his hair for seven months prior to the 'big cut', which was hosted to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Following a fashion show and drinks reception, a guest was chosen at random from the crowd to undertake the cut - using scissors, a razor and clippers to complete the three-stage transformation.

Mark Dawson was the lucky guest and Chris has promised to wear his monk-inspired style for one month before tidying it up!

The event raised over £2,400 in total - watch the haircut happen below;
