Robert cromeans takes inspiration to a new level
If it's trends and techniques that turn you on then the Paul Mitchell presents Robert Cromeans Salon Live show wasn't for you. But if it was drama, theatre, inspiration, excitement and imagination you were after, then this was the must-see show of the weekend.
The Scottish-born hairdresser, who owns five successful salons in America, said to the international audience: "I only speak one language and that is the language of hair. A good hairdresser is more important to a woman than her husband - she can leave her husband but she'll never leave her hairdresser!"
In association with Paul Mitchell, Robert and his team presented 25 models, cutting shapes and adding textures that were wearable but were guatanteed to attract attention and turn heads.
"My philosophy is that hairdressers don't make mistakes we make discoveries. If at first you don't succeed, don't look so surprised!" he laughed.
He was joined onstage by Paul Mitchell artistic director Stephanie Kocielski, who talked reds, blondes and brunettes, accompanied by fascinating videos of icons through the decades.
Known for his creativity, Robert didn't disappoint. Tall models with hair held in place by helium balloons graced the stage as he cut them off and transformed their hair in front of your eyes.
The 90 minute show went by in a flash and left the audience in no doubt that they had just witnessed one of the most inspirational men in hairdressing at his very best.
