Amy Adams is just one of the celebrities riding the retro wave, with vintage-inspired styling remaining a red-carpet favourite.
Veronica Lake remains the key inspiration, with deep side partings and pristine S-shaped waves a classic reference point. A high-shine finish and glossy lengths add extra sparkle to this expensive look.
Providing the perfect showcase for sparkling jewels and shoulder-baring gowns, it's no wonder that vintage looks continue to be a favourite.
We grilled Leonardo Rizzo, international creative director of Sanrizz, for his thoughts on the trend - and how to achieve it in the salon.
"I think vintage waves are big on the red carpet as they show sophistication in a clean and simple design. They look great with glamorous dresses and are very versatile. For example you can wear them as wet-look waves, matte and brushed-out waves, or even a combination of both.
"To recreate this look use a light-hold mousse to prep the hair and then, with a curling wand, twist the sections of hair around the tong, all in the same direction. I would use a wet-look gel for the roots and comb a finger wave into the softer length for a super-chic look."
And Amy's not the only star to have been rocking the retro look on the red carpet recently - check out some more of our favourite interpretations of the trend below.
