Published 09th Dec 2024 by Josie Jackson

Revlon Professional has announced the launch of its mentoring programme, Visionaries Re:Mastered 2025, which will provide the opportunity for four emerging talents to supercharge their hairdressing career. Delivered by members of the award-winning Revlon Professional Ambassador team, the scheme is open to all Revlon Professional salons.

Visionaries Re:Mastered co-ordinator Karen Thomas comments: “Visionaries takes its candidates on a journey like no other, opening up doors to incredible opportunities. It gets you to places, on to magazine pages, into studios and on the invitation list to industry events. It will encourage you to expand on your creativity and get you out from behind your chair. The successes of our former Visionaries has been phenomenal – it’s a career gamechanger!”

The scheme is open to all Revlon Professional salons. There is no upper limit on age, but to be considered, applicants must be a hairdresser and a colourist with a minimum of four years’ hairdressing experience, to include an NVQ 2 qualification plus two years’ salon experience. Applicants will be asked to provide a before/after of a fashion forward image showcasing an ‘on-trend’ haircut enhanced by beautiful colour via a digital entry form.

Applications close on Friday 28 February 2025, and then the finalists will be chosen by a team of judges. The final will take place in London on Monday 17 March 2025 where shortlisted candidates will be asked to recreate their model (colour and hairstyle) in front of a panel of industry judges. The four successful finalists will be announced the following day as the Visionaries Re:Mastered 2025.

Previous Visionaries members have gone on to achieve great success, as demonstrated by the prolific 2023 team:

  • Danny Malone at Macc Hair: Winner and current Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year 2024; Winner of PBHJ Colour Technician of the Year 2024; Winner of BHA Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year 2023; Finalist for Salon International SNAP! award 2023
  • Ashley Long at Directors: Finalist for BHA Southern Hairdresser of the Year 2024;
  • Dodge Mackay at Andrew Jose: Finalist for BHA Trend Image 2024
  • Emy Roccabella at Danilo Hair Boutique: BHA Newcomer of the Year 2022

The Visionaries Team enjoy an incredible year of opportunities, which has included editorial photoshoots, international stage shows and their very own showcase at Salon International.

Some of the 2024 team commented:

This experience has shown me that there’s more than being behind the chair, and you should really push yourself and give yourself opportunities like this. Visionaries creates lifetime friendships and opportunities which wouldn’t have been possible before.

Taylor Borthwick at Myka, Bathgate

You will discover your potential, reach new levels of confidence, and it leads to so many more opportunities.

Sophie Cookson at Gray’s Salon, Leeds

As if anyone needed any more encouragement to apply, Karen Thomas adds: “This chance to gain knowledge and get yourself noticed is not to be missed. I can honestly say that all our Visionaries have told me this experience has changed their lives. What are you waiting for?”
