Regal surroundings at queen bee in scunthorpe
Any business should reflect the owner's personalities and the Queen Bee salon in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, does exactly that. Designed by owners Hayley Richardson and Jenny Blanchard, the salon is an eclectic mix of modern, vintage and colour. "The salon features vibrant colours and elaborate, vintage-style mirrors in a soothing, intimate atmosphere," Jenny explains, who spent hours searching for ideas and furniture at local antique fayres.
Each area of the salon is slightly different - bright in the main cutting area with a more subdued effect in the backwash area, offering clients a relaxing, peaceful ambience.
Patterned wallpaper features throughout, to create an individual feel in each area - black and gold flowers in the main salon, with more subtle patterns in the beauty and relaxation zones. The styling stations feature large, antique gilt mirrors, while the Try Me bar resembles a bedroom dressing table.
Jenny and Hayley's aim was to create a salon that would be a haven of tranquility, somewhere clients could escape to and forget everyday pressures.
"We wanted our clients to feel like royalty when they are in the salon and our service and décor delivers just that," Jenny adds.
