Redken style v festival stars and vips' hair
Celebrities and VIP guests at this year's V Festival including Pixie Lott, Holly Willoughby and Billie Piper received a spot of pampering courtesy of the team from Redken 5th Avenue NYC.
A ten-strong team of stylists, headed up by Jim Shaw of Essensuals, Billericay, worked tirelessy through queues that often numbered 30 people at a time to ensure that the VIPs were looking their very best throughout the two-day festival.
Surprisingly, the bulk of the clients were men, with celebrities Danny Cipriani and Richard Branson leading the way, and many of them requested the same look: the 50s-style short-back-and-sides. Top of the ladies most-wanted list was fishtail plaits and glamorous curls.
"I think festivals have come a long way from what they used to be!" said Jim Shaw. "These days, with people from all walks of life attracted to festivals for different reasons, it is important to offer something for everyone, which is why pop-up salons have grown in popularity.
"If you are after some pampering the option is there - after all, not everyone likes to slum it! Which is why the VIP Virgin Louder Lounge is so popular."
He added: "We had queues of over 30 people at times waiting to have their hair tended to over the two days! In fact, there wasn't a time of the day when people weren't queuing!"
