Red carpet hairstyles at the 2011 billboard awards

Some of this season's hottest hair trends, including dip-dye colour, grungy roots and pop art shades, were all spotted on stylish stars at the on-trend event - here are some of our favourite looks!
Two of the most colourful stars of the event were Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, who both donned bright wigs for a fun fashion injection.
Nicki's bubblegum pink mermaid waves came complete with grungy roots - although in blonde, rather than the usual darker shade.
Opting for a slightly more demure, grown-up look than usual, Rihanna opted for a short wavy style in pillarbox red.
Both Selena Gomez and Kelly Rowland opted for the poker straight look, with sleek dark understated lengths.
Sticking with this season's must-have ombre look, Selena has a hint of a lighter brunette brushed through her lengths, while Kelly also has a few panels surrounding her face to lift the look slightly.
Asymmetric looks proved popular too, with both Taylor Swift and Nicole Kidman wearing side-slung styles.
Taylor's trademark ringlets were tamed in to tumbling waves for a classic Hollywood look, worn tucked over to one side completely and complemented with bright pink lips.
Nicols opted for an on-trend look, and while I like the looseness and texture on top, if would have been nice to see the plait a little longer and looser too as it seems a bit stiff here.
Grungy roots matched with tousled texture are a modern classic so it was no surprise to see Fergie and Ke$ha rocking the look.
Fergie's roots are much more noticeable, but somehow their darkness makes the look work better than Ke$ha's slightly ginger regrowth!
Two of pop's biggest princesses also attended the awards, with both Beyonce and Kylie rocking up the red carpet.
Beyonce wore her lengths in loose long mermaid waves in a strawberry blonde shade, while Kylie opted for on-trend matte texture and fluffy finish colours.
