Red carpet hair trends at the 2013 oscars: smooth and straight

At the 2013 Oscars, smooth styles dominated - whether worn with a hint of movement or poker straight and glossy.
Top TV hairdresser, Jamie Stevens, says: "Polished straight hair is back to the forefront as seen at Spring/Summer 2013 shows such as Lacoste, Celine, Emilio Pucci and Michael Kors. We saw lots of this on the red carpet with stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Hudson all embracing this new simplicity."
To get that super sleek look Jamie says, "It's all in the prep so make sure you're using smoothing shampoos and conditioners. Arm yourself with a good heat protective spray before using straightening irons and remember that if you try to straighten too hair much at once this can result in ridges forming at the roots, so the thinner the section you take, the better the result."
