Punk beauty - met ball 2013 celebrity looks
While some chose to stay away from the more outrageous style options made available by this year's Met Ball theme, Punk: From Chaos to Couture (we're talking to you, Anna Wintour!), others embraced it with gusto.
Rocking make-up that paid homage to the bold attitude of the punk movement, stars such as Emmy Rossum, Ginnifer Goodwin and January Jones chose dark, heavy eyeliner and neutral lips to create a statement.
Elle Fanning, meanwhile, embraced wild colour with a red and blue eyeshadow combo, showing she's no shrinking violet when it comes to beauty.
Emily Blunt was another celebrity to opt for colour on the eyes - this time a bright, graphic pink on the eyelids which looked great with a loosely braided updo.
Despite looking rather glum, Kirsten Stewart picked her punky colours well with dramatic plum eyeshadow all round the eye and a good dose of black eyeliner for definition.
It wasn't all about the eyes though - Rooney Mara channelled a gothic vibe with dark lipstick, providing a striking contrast against her white lace dress.
