Professional beauty association announces naha 2014 winners

Alain Pereque has been named Hairstylist of the Year at the NAHA 2014, which celebrated the very best of North American hairdressing talent. In the 25th anniversary year of the North American Hairstyling Awards, hosted by the Professional Beauty Association, honours were handed out in 14 categories covering not just excellence in hairdressing but also business skills and beauty. The show, which was hosted by E! stars Bill and Giuliana Rancic, was hosted at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas during PBA Beauty Week - North America's largest beauty event. More than 3,000 hair professionals attended, joining thousands of viewers from across the world who tuned in online to watch via live streaming. NAHA's top honor, Hairstylist of the Year, was presented to Alain Pereque from Saco in Montreal, Quebec. It was his first win in this category, having previously taken the titles of Contemporary Classic in 2010 and Master Hairstylist in 2008. Also recognised on the night was educator, artistic director and salon owner Dwight Miller, who was presented with NAHA's highest honour, the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognises those who have made outstanding contributions to the hair and beauty industry and is limited to licensed salon professionals. And the winners were....
