Today marks the anniversary of Priscilla Presley's marriage to Elvis; a day that will surely go down in hair history as playing witness to one of the biggest wedding barnets, ever. And we're not talking about Elvis's quiff.
As well as a three-foot tulle veil and white silk gown, 21-year-old Priscilla rocked one of the biggest bouffants we've seen - high, black and tumbling down her back in loose waves from a voluminous quiff.
This being the 1960s, Priscilla was no stranger to high hair. Here are some of her best big 'do moments...

Priscilla might have slipped off her veil and gown to celebrate her wedding party, but that hair remained steadfast. Her ensemble for the evening reception might have been understated, but her barnet was defiantly exaggerated.

Introducing baby Lisa Marie to the world, Priscilla ensured she was presentable for her public with a 'do even bigger than her wedding-day hair. Forget Kate Middleton's
au natural post-hospital appearance, this is new-mum goes drop-dead gorgeous.

We're used to seeing Lisa with jet-black locks to match Elvis, but this shot of the couple at Graceland shows her with a gorgeous strawberry-blonde shade. Teased up into her usual bouffant and finished with an Alice band, this pretty style shows a softer side to Priscilla.
Bonus big-hair moment: Priscilla in Dallas. This feathered look is pure 80s and, despite the tonnes of hairspray, actually looks quite soft and romantic in comparison to her early years helmets of hair.
Priscilla, on behalf of big-hair fans everywhere, we salute you!
