Peter Som Autumn/Winter 2014: Get the Hair Look

The Peter Som Autumn/Winter 2014 show saw Wella Professionals global creative director Eugene Souleiman create a twist on French style. The show: Peter Som Autumn/Winter 2014 The hair team: Wella Professionals global creative director, Eugene Souleiman The look: Side parted with lots of texture and a twisted back section secured with a bobby pin The inspiration: Iconic French styles from the 1960s to the present day The key product: Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray "Peter’s collection featured some beautiful prints which were slightly out of focus, giving a desaturated feel to the color which was slightly un-natural," said Eugene. "I wanted to take this mood and apply it to the hair, so we added hair pieces in soft hues of violet, pink, pewter and gold to some of the girls to create subtle layers of interest. "In terms of styling, elements such as the side parting, the bobby pin and the slightly raised crown give a nod to the 60s, but not in a retro way. I needed to keep the look fresh and cool, as I wanted the girls to look chic, but with a hint of nonchalance. I didn’t want it to look like they’d tried too hard." Get the look 1. Wash and condition hair using Wella Professionals Brilliance Shampoo and Conditioner to help preserve the shade and shine of colour-treated hair. 2. Apply Perfect Setting Blow Dry Lotion and blow dry the hair using a round brush to create natural volume. 3. Spray Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray to the roots of the hair to create texture. 4. Create a semi-parting in the side of the hair and insert pre-coloured extension pieces through the head for the desired amount of colour. 5. Gently blow-dry the hair with your fingers, focusing on the roots to create extra lift. 6. Use your fingertips to massage the roots, especially around the crown to create a raised ‘static’ texture. 7. Take the front section of hair, position and clip with a bobby pin to gently hold the hair. 8. To create more texture, lift random sections of the hair and spray with Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray.
