Personalised asymmetric hair cut - step-by-step
Akos Bodi of TIGI uses layers and asymmetry to give the wow factor to this purple cut.
Step one: Take a triangular section from the top of the head to the high point of the recession area.
Step two: Take a slightly curved horseshoe section from the low point of the recession area around the head.
Step three: Working with fine diagonal sections, starting at the centre back, eliminate length while using a vertical graduation technique, slowly building weight throughout the underneath area.
Step four: Continue with the same technique and work in the same format towards the front.
Step five: Repeat the same technique on the opposite side.
Step six: Take a radial division then work with pivoting sections around the crown. Comb and elevate the hair 90 degrees to the round of the head and cut squarely to the head shape to create a disconnection from the underneath area.
Step seven: In front of the ear continue with the same technique and slightly overdirect each section backwards to maintain length towards the sides.
Step eight: Release the front triangular section. Work with vertical sections. To maintain length through the front hairline overdirect each section backwards and use slide-cutting to blend with the top area.
Step nine: Overdirect the remainder of the fringe up and away from the face and slide-cut to blend.
Step ten: Reshape the perimeter length by slicing.
Step eleven: After blow-drying the hair, soften the shape using point-cutting and slicing techniques.
Step twelve: Flat iron and finish with Bed Head Candy Fixations Glaze Haze.
