Perfect party hair: the perfect modern beehive

Here Colin Greaney, international creative director of Mahogany Hairdressing, shows you how to create the look.

1. Prep locks with volumising mousse and blast with a hairdryer at the roots to activate some serious pump.
2. Curl hair with irons and then brush out for soft waves.
3. Separate out a circular section around the top of the head and start to backcomb sections to build height.
4. Once you've got an impressive bump, softly brush the very top layer, smoothing it over the hair at the back.
5. Work the bouffon into the desired roundness and height and secure with pins.
6. Finish with a strong hold spray like OSIS+ Freeze from Schwarzkopf Professional.
