Rita Ora turned to her faithful stylist Chris Appleton for her V Festival hair look this week, with a style inspired by not one but two Chanel shows.
Pearls are a Chanel staple, and for the Spring/Summer 2012 show they were woven throughout model's hair. Wet-look lengths were studded with pearls throughout for a romantic mermaid mood.
For Autumn/Winter 2014, ribbons of Chanel fabric were woven through ponytails to
create a dreadlocked look.
Chris's finished look for Rita's stage appearance combined the glitz of pearls with the down-to-earth tactile qualities of denim for an entirely bespoke hairstyle. Catwalk glamour meets street style both in terms of materials and techniques - the luxe ponytail juxtaposed with scalp braids; the elegance of pearls contrasted against utilitarian denim; even the edginess of combining a cornrow with a couture pearl.
Rita and Chris are a winning combination - we can't wait to see what they do next!
