Nolcha-Fashion-Week-PM.jpgNolcha Fashion Week London, co-sponsored by Paul Mitchell Luxury Hair Care, made a huge splash with the London fashion crowd in the Crystal Ballroom at The Mayfair Hotel. Nolcha promotes and supports international fashion on the runway, in seminars and trade networking. Its fashion week, held in tandem with London Fashion Week, gives selected new design talent the opportunity to unveil their collections to a professional audience of press, buyers and industry figures from around the globe. A select few from the Paul Mitchell Platform Artist Club (PAC) and the Paul Mitchell Art Team headed up by trends expert Amanda Harvey of the Shear Beauty group of salons, were backstage busily creating hairstyles to complement the designers’ varied collections."The looks we went for in the first round of shows were fairly simple in order to accommodate the models featuring more than once," says Amanda. "For the Gala shows we had more lee-way, and added a splash of Amy Winehouse to the looks.. We went for a more lived in, not too polished look across the board." Nolcha-Fashion-Week-2.jpg Le Nac (Netherlands) showcased simple yet elegant feminine pieces with beautifully fitting cuts. Following this DMG (Columbia) featured their exquisite, chic white coat collection with huge attention to detail and gigantic buttons. Fine artist turned fashion designer Laurance Rassin’s (USA) show was bursting with colour and energy leaving the crowd stunned. The evening shows began with Georgie W Couture. ‘Fabulous darling’ was the phrase…’English tea party’ was the theme. Striking yet simple pieces were strutted down the catwalk of this British designer. Selphie Bong (Indonesia) showed striking evening looks with an edge. Closing the catwalk shows was Qipao by Jane (China) who took the traditional Qipao and made it current, fun and classy using non traditional modern prints and lengths, yet still keeping in line with the strict quality hand tailoring expected of such fine garments. The PAC team enthused: "We had a lot of fun doing the Nolcha fashion week show. It was a great buzz."
