Oscars 2014: best-tressed red carpet guests

The Oscars 2014 marked the culmination of awards season, with all eyes on Hollywood for the biggest night in film. As well as the usual best-dressed lists, this year we compiled our own best-tressed list for those stars whose hair inspired on the night.
As far as Oscars history goes, this year's event was a relatively sober affair with tasteful looks trumping outrageous styles. Smooth blow-dries, asymmetric waves and pretty chignons were order of the day for most guests, with gents opting for classically side-parted styles.
Of course there are always a few exceptions to the rules. Best Supporting Actor Jared Leto continues his reign as king of colour, with his ombre (or should that be hombre?) waves looking just as dreamy as any female attendees' barnets. Best Supporting Actress Lupita Nyong'o also made an impression with her sparkling headband which has, of course, already got its own Twitter account.
Colour also made a statement this year, with Liza Minnelli adding a blue streak to her locks to match her outfit and Margot Robbie switching her blonde bombshell shade for a sultry brunette hue.
