Celebrity hairdresser
Nicky Clarke says he felt humbled receiving his OBE for services to the hairdressing industry from the Queen.
Known for styling the tresses of clients including Diana, Princess of Wales, actress Liz Hurley, and music legends George Michael and David Bowie, Nicky now has successful salons in Londons Mayfair, Birmingham, Manchester and most recently Leeds.
He famously described making people look and feel their best as his 'personal goal', saying: "I simply do not believe that anyone needs to have a ’bad hair day’ - ever."
Nicky collected the prestigious award from Buckingham Palace with ex-wife and busniess partner Lesley and their two children and says: "I know it's a cliche but I feel very humbled by it - it's fantastic. It's wonderful to be recognised for what you do."
"When my wife and I started the business we didn't quite realise the success it would be.
"The amount of people that have come through and been trained - it's been worthwhile and continues to be worthwhile."
