Emma Edwards from Vanity Hair in Tonyrefail, near Pontypridd, has been crowned as Welsh Hairdresser of the Year at the National Hairdressers Federation’s Welsh Hairdressing & Beauty Awards 2015, which took place in Cardiff this weekend.
Emma beat off stiff competition from stylists across Wales to win the accolade, as did Tino Lazarou, of Cardiff barber shop Lazarou Barbers, who was named Welsh Barber of the Year.
NHF Wales president and Cardiff salon owner Mark Coray said: “Massive congratulations to both Emma and Tino. The awards recognise the very best professionals in our industry, judged by the people who matter the most – our clients. Competition was really intense this year so everyone, whether winner or runner-up, should be hugely proud of the recognition they’ve achieved.”
The Welsh Award Hall of Fame was won by Phillip Mungeam, The Room, Usk who has worked alongside Andrew Collinge, Tresemme and Aveda and has been an amazing ambassador for the haircare industry through media appearances and his tireless support for the treatment of hair loss in chemotherapy.
