New mums rushing for radical re-styles Rise in new mums rushing to the hairdressers for a dramatic restyle after the birth of their babyResearch has revealed that new mums are increasingly feeling the need to get a total hair restyle after the birth of their baby. A survey from retailer Fabriah.com discovered that 76% of new mothers opted for a dramatic cut as soon as they could get to the salon. Almost one third (30%) chose a new look in the later stages of pregnancy while just under half (46%) paid a visit to the salon shortly after to their new arrival. Only a quarter (24%) of new mums polled said that they didn't feel the need for a radical new look. Reasons for restyling included a desire for an easier to manage style, something which took less time to style and a shift in self image. A spokesperson for Fabriah.com said: "A lot of women just don’t have the time to look after their hair and appearance after giving birth. They have so many other things to do with the baby and getting their hair restyled makes their lives that little bit easier." With all eyes on the Duchess of Cambridge and her impending new arrival, it remains to be seen whether she will opt for the chop when the future Prince of Princess arrives!
