Mtv movie awards: young hollywood stars show off red carpet style

Hollywood stars of stage and screen flocked to Los Angeles last night for the annual MTV Movie Awards - and with big names like Kristen Stewart, Emma Watson and Reese Witherspoon gracing the stage, it was an event that was as stylish as it was star-studded.

For a night dedicated to teen hits like Twilight and Harry Potter, the event had a suitably youthful guest list. 

At 13-years-old, Elle Fanning might already be a red carpet veteran but she looked sweet, chic and age-appropriate in her playful pink floral D&G jumpsuit.

While Elle has experimented with edgier hairstyles in the past, this long and loose look is perfect for a teen star. Natural, healthy and packed with movement, it doesn't look too 'done' but still retains red carpet polish.

Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld also looked nice and natural with super-long locks in pristine, polished condition.

Like Elle, we've seen Hailee more dressed up in the past, but this Rapunzel-length look is perfect for the 14-year-old. Wavy texture through the very lengths keep this simple style from falling flat.

Justin Bieber's girlfriend Selena Gomez also looked perfectly age-appropriate but still red carpet ready with a half-up, half-down 'do.

Tucked at the nape of the neck, Selena's hair shows off her pretty features and blinging earrings, but again doesn't feel too 'done'.

A hint of balayage colour through the lengths add interest to Selena's glossy brunette locks.
