Blonde hair is always a red carpet hit and at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards blonde locks of every hue were on display - from Lil Mama's white blonde wig to Leighton Meester's newly lightened lengths.
Once known as one of rap's most adventurous dressers, Lil Mama has been absent for a couple of years - time in which Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj have made red carpet dressing an art form.
Still, in a blunt, peroxide blonde wigh, Lil Mama still makes an impression - although the look is super-fake, it's surprisingly flattering too.
Reese Witherspoon gave her all-American girl look a sexy twist with tousled texture and a natural parting.
Although the curls are glossy and polished through the lengths, there's still a hint of bedhead to this dishevelled look, perfectly complemented through the slightly dirty roots and tonal blonde lengths.
Leighton Meester is best known as a glossy brunette, so this lightened look makes a refreshing change for summer.
Proving that the dip-dye balayage trend is going nowhere, Leighton has dramatically lightened lengths graduating from her natural brunette base.
Leighton may be the latest in a long line of celebrities to try this look, but she carries it off perfectly and it's an ideal summer look.
Actress Amanda Bynes also has a two tone blonde/brunette look, but unfortunately the dramatic contrast leaves this style feeling a little dated.
