Morrison Hair Laguna Beach fully embodies California cool by combining classic 1920s Spanish Colonial revival architecture – all smooth white plasterwork, open spaces and light – with Scandi-style design touches; rustic patterned textiles on squidgy leather sofas, metal lockers and a floating raw wood styling shelf. A roaring fire, antique rugs and fluffy sheepskin throws all add to the cosy-cool feel.
Stylist James Morrison, who brought TONI&GUY to Orange County more than ten years ago, is the brains behind the initimate salon which is nesteld in a bungalow perched above the North Coast Highway.
"I wanted to work in a space where my clients could slow down long enough to enjoy a cup of tea and I could create a style that suited their personality and lifestyle,” says James, who is originally from Glasgow. “Morrison Hair encompasses all of the elements of my dream salon. A small house with wood floors, fireplace and beautiful light."
The decor is a mix of modern and vintage, featuring
Belvedere salon chairs, lighting from
Flos and
Tom Dixon and a specially-comissioned wood slab bar in place of a styling station.
