Mizani styles the runway for africa fashion week london 2013 Mizani were backstage at Africa Fashion Week London 2013 Afro and curly-hair specialists, Mizani, created three catwalk-ready looks for Africa Fashion Week London, which took place at the Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch. The three-day fashion showcase, which celebrates the best of African fashion, attracted over 10,000 guests - includng Mizani's ambassador, Shingai Shoniwa. A 20-strong team, headed up by Mizani technicians Yemi Miles and Charmaine Houghton, created dual-tail braids, a sleek faux-hawk and a low sweeping statement braid for shows by designers including emerging Ghanian Jessica Baah, Nigeria's Zizi Cardow and Zimbabwean Portia Mwanaka. [gallery ids="21583,21584,21586"] Working backstage alongside Yemi and Charmaine were a host of rising Afro hairdressing stars from salons including Hype Coiffure, Angela Gaudi and L'Oreal Colour Trophy Mizani Afro Look winners, TONI&GUY Chiswick. Tumi Soyinka, MIZANI Senior Product Manager, commented: "AFWL 2013 was an absolute success! This year, we had an over-subscription of stylists from all over the country who wanted to join our Artistic Hair Team and style backstage at the event.
