Afro Caribbean and mixed-race hair specialists, Mizani, showcased their creative styling skills backstage at the second Africa Fashion Week London at Spitalfields Market.
A team of 14 hairdressers styled models over the two-day event, led my Mizani technicians Charmaine Haughton and Yemi Miles.
The talented group included stylists from top Mizani salons including Hype Coiffure, Angela Gaudi, Asphair, Asquared, Kizuri and Zigzag, as well as top session stylist Brendan Robertson.

Two looks were created for the shows, with textured top knots on day one and elegantly disheveled on-trend ponytails for the second.
Tumi Soyinka, MIZANI Product Manager was thrilled to join forces with Africa Fashion Week London 2012:
"The hair is so intrinsic to the finished catwalk look so the team wanted to create modern and fresh styles that would complement the designs perfectly. From the updos on Friday to the sleek ponytails on Saturday, the hair looked incredible. I'm so proud of the whole team, who worked so hard to create the stunning catwalk looks. It was great to be part of an event that supports inspiring talent and I look forward to seeing this event grow to a larger scale."
