Miley ditches the extensions

Like most pop princesses, Miley Cyrus is no stranger to hair extensions. The 17 year old star is usually seen with waist length waves, but following a salon visit yesterday, she's now rocking a much shorter look.

Miley was caught in a paparazzi scrum outside Gemini 14 salon in New York, revealing a much shorter, more natural style. According to onlookers, the starlet spent nine hours in the chair having her extensions removed.

It's not the first time Miley has paid a visit to Gemini 14. Earlier in the year she dropped in to the Manhattan salon for some last minute highlights. In fact, the colour was so last minute that Miley ended up being four hours late for a planned American Idol performance! Let's hope her new low maintenance look will help her make all her future appointments on time...
