James Pecis and the BaByliss Pro team were inspired by Ari Up and The Slits for the Meadham Kirchhoff Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
The show: Meadham Kirchhoff Spring/Summer 2015
The hair team: James Pecis and the BaByliss Pro team
The look: Pineapple ponytails; bound with elastic at the base to stick up and covered with clips around the base.
The inspiration: Ari Up from 80s punk band The Slits
The key product: BaByliss Pro 25mm Curling Tong
Get the Look
1. Style hair throughout with the BaByliss Pro 25mm Curling Tong, taking random sections and working in different directions to create an irregular wave.
2. Tip the head upside down and secure the hair in a ponytail, high on the models head. Bind the base of the ponytail with elastic for about 6" to ensure that it stands up straight from the head, inserting a thin piece of aluminium if hair is very heavy or thick. If models have particularly short hair, create two bunches instead, using the same technique.
3. Take pieces of fabric from the collection and wrap around the base of the ponytail. Put hairclips in at random all over the base of the hair.
4. Backcomb the hair sticking out of the top of the bound ponytail, blasting with hairspray and the BaByliss Pro Volare dryer to create fluffy, voluminous texture.
5. For models with fringes, plait in tiny sections and add a bow to the end of each.
