James Pecis created a restrained look for the Meadham Kirchhoff Autumn/Winter 2014 show, working with traditional techniques using BaByliss Pro tools.
The show: Meadham Kirchhoff Autumn/Winter 2014
The hair team: James Pecis for BaByliss Pro
The look: Floaty brushed-out Marcel waves, pinned over to one side
The inspiration: A restrained take on the Meadham girl. The show often features street-cast models so there were a lot of different haircuts to deal with - short, long, shaved, undercut. The same look was applied to all models to create a diverse take on a uniform look.
The key product: BaByliss Pro 38mm Titanium Expression Curling Tong
"I've worked with Meadham Kirchhoff for about 12 seasons - since they started," said James. "Usually they go for a massive look and always have tiny curls or marcel waves - whether using wigs, hair pieces or not. I love Marcel waves and it's a shame that lots of hairdressers today don't know how to do them. I learned from a French hairdresser - it's an old fashioned technique and once you get it, it's super easy. The secret is that it needs lots of practice and you have to switch off from being a robot - you have to pay lots of attention to what you are doing."
