Sandra Bullock caused a stir on the red carpet at the 2011 Golden Globes, debuting a rocking full fringe, inspired by 60s icon Marianne Faithfull.

Sixties sensation Marianne Faithfull became famous for her sexy full fringe, falling over her eyes for a seriously sultry look.

And while Kate Moss has always been inspired by Marianne's rock chick style, it seems more stars than ever are adopting her trademark peeper-sweeping fringe.

Proving without a doubt that fringes are no longer the preserve of pre-teens, the poker-straight, full and fashionable style has been copied by some of the most popular stars for 2011.

We spoke to a selection of top stylists to find out how to work this look...

Kate has rocked plenty of Marianne-inspired looks over the years, but now even her super-glam model pal Naomi Campbell is rocking bold, blunt bangs.

Tiff J of 3Thirty, London says: "Kate oozes sex appeal with her Brigitte Bardot-inspired fringe. The eye-skimming length draws attention to her come-to-bed eyes and suggestive pout. I love the way she wears it with her nonchalantly styled locks for irreverence."

Meanwhile Charles Dodds of Cutting Room Creative, Leeds says: "This style is perfect for those who want to upgrade their look and add a modern edge with 60s flair. Naomi's long locks and full fringe work perfectly with her face shape. Styled for smoothness, the fringe hits right under the brows and really draws attention to her eyes and high cheek bones."

Sandra Bullock gave style-watchers everywhere a stir at the Golden Globes 2011, with a full, blunt fringe combined with multi-tonal lengths.

Robert Masciave of Metropolis, Kingston says: "Sandra's gorgeous layered locks have been instantly updated with a Cleopatra-style fringe. This look is intensely chic. Thick fringes like this work best when there styled straight with super shine."

Florence Welch proves that a striking colour isn't the only way to make a statement - her lash-tickling lengths combined with wavy texture add up to one covetable cut.

Michelle Winter of Michelle Louise, London comments: "Florence has always skipped to the beat of her own drum with her lustrous blood orange locks and ethereal dress sense. I love how she orbits her style around her hair, making it the visual focal point. However I would love to see her cut her fringe slightly more retro - like Bettie Paige's - as I think she could really carry it off."

And as for the original full fringe guru Marianne? She's still rocking the look aged 60 plus - and looking fabulous with it!
