Award winning Berkshire-based salon group, Marc Antoni have opened their first salon in Xiamen, China.

The group has plans to open 20 franchise salons along with a Marc Antoni Training Academy to support education for the salons in Xiamen. Artistic Director of Marc Antoni Group, Bruno Giamattei has been working on this project since 2020 and the recently opened first salon has provided the blueprint for their franchise programme, which will be rolled out over the next year.

Bruno and the Marc Antoni Team are regular visitors to China where each year they present The World Hair Congress in Xiamen and after the spectacular showcase carry out a series of workshops and masterclasses. “The audience in China are very keen to learn and want to know the latest trends in cut, colour, and styling. Having visited Xiamen several times, we saw there was a fantastic opportunity to create a salon business that was unique in approach to hairdressing, service and education and allow us to expand into China through a franchise programme and educational activity via the Marc Antoni Academy,” says Bruno.

Education will be key to the success of the franchises, and the collaboration with the team at Marc Antoni and in Xiamen is fundamental to making this work. Bruno and the team will be back in China in November to present once more at the World Hair Congress and host a series of educational sessions, ensuring the standards they have set continue to be upheld.

“We are delighted to be flying the flag for British hairdressing and our industry in China," adds Bruno. “Thank you to Xiamen for this incredible opportunity to showcase our creative skills and business acumen. We are looking forward to building and developing this exciting venture.”
