Madonna gave a spectacular performance at the 2012 Superbowl, resembling an Egyptian goddess in Givenchy couture - topped off with an enormous Philip Treacy headpiece and tumbling mass of blonde curls.
The Queen of Pop took no risks with her hair on this occasion, sticking to the centre-parted, S-shaped waves which she's worn a lot lately. She gets a pass on this occasion though - with that bejewelled headpiece balanced on top, anything more fussy would have been lost.

Madonna was supported during her performance with guest appearances from Nicki Minaj and MIA, both sporting long bobs with blunt fringes.
Wearing a chain-laden Egyptian headdress from Erickson Beamon, MIA's shoulder-length black hair was crimped in tiny sections to add texture and volume throughout.

Nicki Minaj was also rocking a bobbed style, wearing a white blonde wig complete with blunt lash-tickling fringe and topped off again with a jewelled headpiece courtesy of Erickson Beamon.

And just in case you weren't convinced that bobs are most definitely back for 2012, Madonna was supported by an entire troop of dancers in matching black bob wigs.
