Published 18th Jun 2024 by Charlotte Grant-West

HJ joined L'Oréal Professionnel Paris in Dublin, Ireland for the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final on Monday 17 June at Dublin Royal.

This year's theme centred on 'FINDing your FORM'; and we were treated to two spectacular shows by Jason Hall and Abigail Butler, and the Arkive by Adam Reed team.

The evening kicked off with a introduction from L'Oréal Professionnel Paris, General Manager UK and Irelad, Ann Marie Humphreys.

She said: "L'Oréal Colour Trophy has been championing professional excellence and hair artistry for over five decades. It is the longest running live hair competition in the world."

This was followed by a catwalk of all the Grand Finalists who had been competing all day in the RDS, Dublin, before we this year's judges took to the stage: Alan Edwards, Andrew Mulvenna, Darren Ambrose, Marcello Moccia and Nathan Walker.

Mash Up, a show led by Jason Hall and Abigail Butler followed. Supported by the L'Oréal ID Artists it was a cornocopia of throwback styles, a mix of street style and avant garde looks, all brought together by a soundtrack that moved seamlessly from 80s nostalgia to 00s hits. A huge well done to the assisting team: Daryl Behan, Peter Mark College; Georgia Haverty, Peter Mark College; Kelly Byrne, Peter Mark College; Rebecca Robinson, Peter Mark College; Sadhbh Clifford, Peter Mark; Sian Lloyd, Hillary.ie and Yolanda Dunne, Wildflower.

Framework by L’Oréal Professionnel, Editorial UK Ambassador Adam Reed and his team Andrew Plester, Janet Barone, John Spanton, Luke Logan, Pia Wyatt and Samantha Bickle followed. It was a fusion of cabaret culture, drag artistry and avant garde hair looks, alongside a video featuring Adam Reed and the team performing in the background.
