Halley Brisker created clean and minimal ponytails for the J JS Lee Spring/Summer 2014 show at London Fashion Week.
Show: J JS Lee
Stylist: Halley Brisker for L'Oreal Professionnel
The inspiration: Nineties Jil Sander minimalism
The look: A clean, side-parted ponytail with a slicked-down top and contrasting textured lengths. Pink, mint and white hair ties were used to match the collection, with each girl's band chosen according to her outfit.
Side partings were styled according to each girl's individual features and hairline and the texture of the lengths was decided dependent on the girl's own hair type; some had hair tonged or braided to create a wave, others had natural movement - Halley said he didn't want 'robots'.

Get the look: Hair was "nailed back" with L'Oreal Professionnel Tecni.Art Fix Design Fixing Spray which dries quickly and leaves a hard, shiny finish. Hair was styled in a side parting, positioned according to the girl's features, and combed into place with a fine-tooth comb to leave marks and create a flat-to-the-head shape. Crystal Gloss was then sprayed on top to add more shine.
Hair was then secured into a low ponytail at the nape and tied off with pastel elastic, chosen to match each outfit exactly. The hair in the tail was then styled according to the model's hair type; some had hair tonged lightly, some had hair braided to add a wave, and some had natural movement already. Pli was used on those models that needed it, but only lightly and brushed through thoroughly.
Halley explained he didn't want hair to look as if it had product in it on the lengths, just natural beautiful hair with flyaways.
