London fashion week spring/summer 2014: alexis barrell

Adam Reed created a luxe take on beach hair for the Alexis Barrell Spring/Summer 2014 show at London Fashion Week. Show: Alexis Barrell Stylist: Adam Reed for Wella Professionals The inspiration: Beach hair, but a luxe take on the look - the girl has been to the beach and been swimming, but she's been home and washed her hair and is now driving on the beach... but not in a campervan, she's on the Pacific Coast Highway in a sexy sports car. The look: Wet-looking sculpted waves, swooped in to a DIY-feel updo. [gallery columns="2" ids="22941,22939"] Get the look: Hair was washed with Wella Professionals Brilliance Shampoo and Conditioner and dried off. Hair was then wet down and prepped with Boost Bounce Mousse and Velvet Amplifier, which were massaged through to really saturate the hair and create movement. Damaged hair was given an extra dose of Luxe Oil to help it look healthy and shiny - this might be beachy hair, but with a glossy, healthy feel not dried-out texture. Hair was then scooped up with a couple of geisha pins and styled into a loose, DIY-feel updo; as if the girl had put her own hair up at the end of a day at the beach. Hair was finished with Perfect Setting Spray and left to dry off naturally.
