London fashion week spring/summer 2013: bernard chandran

Darren Fowler created sleek ponytails for the Bernard Chandran Spring/Summer 2013 show at London Fashion Week.

The inspiration: "We really wanted to express a young, fresh, clean and playful look with the hair," said Darren, "which is the reason behind choosing ponytails. There are so many fabrics and shapes within the collection that we wanted a super easy-to-wear hairstyle but something that was also classic and couture to complement the collection" 

The look: Sleek, clean high ponytails.

Get the look: Begin by prepping the hair with Shu Uemura Ample Angora. Using a bristle brush, smoothly brush hair back into a ponytail, keeping to a medium height, making sure it's not too low or too high

Use L'Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Play Ball Wax Smoothie Spray for a sleek and shiny finish.

Taking a ½cm - 2cm centre section of hair from the front of the hairline, twist hair and wrap the ends of hair around the base of the ponytail. Secure hair tightly into place with kirby grips.

Finally finish the look with Shu Uemura Sheer Lacquer.
