Ali Pirzadeh created geek chic for the Ashish Spring/Summer 2013 show at London Fashion Week.

Show: Ashish

Stylist: Ali Pirzadeh for L'Oréal Professionnel

The inspiration: Cool, calm but very uncollected. Geeky chic.

The look: A top knot secured with a sequinned scrunchie. "This girl is young, unique, free-spirited and usually gets her look wrong," said Ali.

"She wears sequins because she likes how they sparkle - not because they are fashionable. She's a bit random. I loved the sequins in the collection so when Ashish and I met to discuss the look we knew we had to incorporate this in the hair. What better way from his geeky girl reference than to use a sequinned scrunchy?"

Get the look: Models with finer hair were prepped with London Addixion Bubble Soufflé to add volume, with Tecni Art Volume Lift applied at the root and rough dried.

Hair was then simply pulled up into a high bun and secured with the scrunchy. "We wanted it to look like the girls had done their hair themselves." said Ali. "So I pulled out the front pieces so they appeared to have wispy bits round their faces and at the nape of their necks. Then to hold everything in place we used Infinium hairspray."

Key products: L'Oréal Professionnel London Addixion Bubble Soufflé, Infinium Hairspray, Tecni Art Volume Lift
