Lyndell Mansfield created architectural updos for the Antipodium Spring/Summer 2013 show at London Fashion Week.
Show: Antipodium
Stylist: Lyndell Mansfield for Bumble and bumble
Inspiration: Clean, futuristic, virtual ponytails and synthetic beauty. Twisted modernity.
The look: Sleek, flat ponytails with a square shape through the top. Two hair textures; the sleek ponytails ends and the messy textured hair on top of the head create a contrasting look.
Get the look: The designer collaborated with architect, Pandora, to create square metal combs, which were key to the look.
Hair was prepped with Bumble and bumble Prep Spray and blow-dried away from the face using a vent brush to create straight lengths.
Once dry, hair was misted with Does it All before a pinch of hair was separated at the occipital bone. This small section was secured with a kirby grip, then the square comb was placed over the top.
The comb has a small hole in the model, which hair was pulled through. Once through, it was tied off with an elastic.
With the comb in place, the rest of the hair was pulled over the comb using a dressing brush from all sides. Hair was then secured in a ponytail at the centre.
Hair was then covered with Bumble and bumble Bb Shine and brushed through with Hairdresser's Invisible Oil added for a super sleek, flat ponytail.
Excess oil was then rubbed off along the hairline, with more Bb Shine dusted on using a makeup brush to create a super-shiny, sleek hairline.
Key products: Bumble and bumble Prep, Does it All, Shine and Hairdresser's Invisible Oil.
