London fashion week spring/summer 2013: aminaka wilmont

The inspiration: Stepford Wives meet Rockabilly

The look: A choppy, dark precision fringe and a gentle sexy wave.

Get the look: Note: two long black hair pieces are needed for this look.

Blow-dry the sides of hair with the ghd air and ghd Style Root Lift Spray. Smooth hair pieces with the ghd V Gold Max Styler and leave to cool.

Starting with the right hand side, use the ghd Oval Dressing Brush and ghd Style Final Fix spray to smooth back the side section of hair (running from below the ear to 2" above and back from temple). Repeat this on the left hand side. 

Pull two sides together and secure in a centre ponytail, beneath the crown ensuring the sections are large enough to cover the whole sides of the head. 

Take the top section of hair and part down the middle, crossing one side over the first ponytail and create a ponytail with a small section and repeat on the other side. 

Combine the three ponytails into one by French plaiting down the head to include the rest of the hair, taking care to keep the plait as flat to the head as possible.

Once the length of the hair is in the French plait, rotate the plait back up and round, pinning as you go, so the whole back of the head remains as flat as possible.

Attach and pin two expanded hair pieces to the back of the head so none of the back hair is visible, up to just above the crown so slicked-back side sections are exposed.

Attach the fringe to meet hair pieces, then roughly trim just below the hair line to give a very short rockabiliy fringe.

Use the ghd air and a ghd Ceramic Vented Radial Brush to blow dry hair to suit your face shape.
