London fashion week autumn/winter 2013: mary katrantzou

Mary Katrantzou Autumn/Winter 2013-14 hair by Eugene Souleiman for Wella ProfessionalsEugene Souleiman created a study in contradictions for the Mary Katrantzou Autumn/Winter 2013 show at London Fashion Week.

Show: Mary Katrantzou

Stylist: Eugene Souleiman and the Wella Professionals team.

Supporting names included Guy Cammarano from Regis, Jake Unger from HOB Salons, Anya Dellicompagni from the Francesco Group, Dan Spiller from Marc Antoni and Ben Kristian from Zullo & Holland.

The inspiration: A study in contrasts - a short, slightly puritanical Joan of Arc geometric fringe with softer, more wearable lengths.

The look: A short, curving fringe and a raw, textured ponytail.

Get the look: Hair was prepped with Wella Professionals Hydrate Finish and Create Character and smoothly blow-dried away from the face. Hair was then styled into two sections horizontally, with both sleeked back using more Hydrate Finish and Stay Essential hairspray, spraying very close to the head to get a wet feel which helped comb hair back sleekly.

The bottom section was pulled into a high ponytail, with the top section then brushed over and added in. Twine was wrapped around the base to make the ponytail kick out.

Extensions were clipped in high on the crown, then cut to shape to fit the model's personal style while fitting the short, edgy look.

Key product: Wella Professionals Hydrate FInish, Create Character, Stay Essential

The gossip: Best snacks backstage so far? Worcester Sauce crisps, Cadbury's chocolate bar minis and muffins all round.
