voodou-education.jpgLiverpool's largest salon chain, Voodou, has launched a campaign to inspire and inform school children in the city about the benefits of a career in the industry.

A team of junior stylists has been giving talks to a number of schools across the city, informing pupils of their own career paths and why they choose to become hairdressers.

Managing director, Rob Webb said: "With today's economic climate and increasing university fees, we are all aware how hard pupils are finding it to get themselves on to the career ladder. The campaign is aimed to make students aware of the varied industry of hairdressing and how possible it is to get started. Our new graduates have been giving them real life examples of how they got into the industry and taking questions from interested pupils."

"For anyone who is looking at how to become a hairdresser our in-house training academy offers high quality training for hairdressers and barbers in NVQ levels 1-3. We have a proven track record in producing successful stylists who go on to have brilliant careers and our own super stylists are among the highest paid and trained hairdressers and barbers in the profession."

The promotional tour coincides with the launch of Voodou Jnr - an in-salon service aimed at the younger generation of clients, with prices starting at £13. The salon chain has also launched a regional competition to find an ambassador for the new service - who will win free hairdressing for a year.
