Lily collins marcel waves: get the look Lily Collins Marcel Waves Get the Look Want to copy the Lily Collins marcel waves we spotted on the red carpet at the Love, Rosie premiere? Goldwell colour expert and international Colorzoom ambassador, Neil Barton, tells us how. "We love brunettes at Neil Barton Hairdressing," says Neil. "Lily Collins proves the glossy choppy bob is making a comeback with this modern twist of defined marcel waves. Here's how we'd get the look!" 1. Part the hair into a deep side parting and, starting on one side, comb one side of hair with a tail comb. Spray lightly with Goldwell’s Stylesign Fullrebel Fluid Paste for extra hold before placing the metal side of your tail comb underneath a section of the hair. 2. By facing your tail comb upwards with the teeth of the comb through the hair, create a crease in the panel by pressing your flat iron on the hair with the comb in between the plates of the iron. Repeat this step every couple of inches down the panel of hair and on the other side of your parting. 3. Lightly brush out the creases in the hair before pulling the front section back slightly and spraying the deep side parting with Goldwell’s Stylesign Pump Freezer for an extra-strong hold. 4. I would recommend using Goldwell’s Stylesign Diamond Gloss to enhance this look. The micro-fine shine spray has an anti-frizz effect and a long lasting radiance – perfect to hold those marcel waves in place like Lily. Want to copy the colour? We can help with that too! Over to you Neil. "To achieve the colour, instead of doing a full tint, try adding reflective brunette tones using various different placements depending on the cut. Adding warm and cool browns together give a multi-tonal effect. You can add more movement to the hair creating a 1920s vintage classic look by using Goldwell’s Colour Styling Mousse, which provides the hair with colour protection and a soft hold but still creates extra volume."
