It’s 3.40 and Salon International 2007 is nearly over.
Today has been heaving, with visitors filling every aisle clamouring to buy the latest products or see demonstrations by some of the top artistic teams in the world.
Monday is student day, so there’s a real youthful energy to the hair hall today – and I feel very old!As always, it will be strange to re-enter the real world after three days of living in the Salon International bubble. Reality always seems to dull when you’ve spend a few days in the company of thousands of hairdressers.
It’s been a fantastic three days, but my feet are now aching from walking the length and breadth of ExCel hundreds of times over, trying to see everything the show has to offer.
As always, the HJ stage has been a focal point, offering demonstrations by some amazingly creative and skilled hairdressers.
This year the stage had a concept to cover theme, with a model from each set photographed and then turned into an HJ cover in front of the audience with a bit of computer trickery.
That so many people of all ages gathered to see this shows is testament the strength of interest in editorial work within the industry.
So, one more circuit of the hair hall for me, and then it will all be over for another year!
