Lanvin ss14 campaign continues white blonde's reign

The Lanvin SS14 campaign shows that there's no stopping the rise of ice-white blondes as this year's biggest colour trend. The Spring/Summer shoot from the Paris fashion house, shot by Steven Meisel, features models Julia Nobis, Laurie Harding and Sasha Luss with matching icy white hair for a super-striking image. Going white blonde is a fantastic way to make a fashion statement however those who commit to it also commit to the sometimes high maintenance of this look. Anyone with a light natural base and shorter hair can expect to achieve the popular Nordic white blonde as seen in the Lanvin SS14 campaign. Regular treatments are a must to keep the hair in great condition as is the occasional violet shampoo and conditioner to remove yellow tones. Sometimes these can be a little strong, so my trick is to mix them with normal shampoo and conditioner so as to not build up that grey tone, particularly on the ends. For darker natural bases it becomes trickier. The natural yellow in the hair is harder to bleach out making this clean white very difficult to achieve, therefore in certain cases a darker tone of blonde may be more suitable for the hair and skin tone of the individual.
