Following on from epic videos like Telephone and Bad Romance, the new single sees Gaga transform her entire look in just about every scene.
Fittingly for a single with a religious theme, many of the Lady's looks are inspired by historical and iconic biblical imagery. However this being Gaga, nothing is ever as it seems and there's also a fair amount of couture fashion.
We take a peek at some of the video's best hair and beauty looks...
The video starts with Lady Gaga on the back of a motorbike with bright yellow hair flailing in the wind. It's not the first time the diva has had canary-coloured lengths - this look was first debuted last year and has been a popular style for the star on her recent tour.
Next we see Gaga accessorising with a crown - festooned with crucifixes and multi-coloured jewels, the headpiece sits on top of fairly normal blow-dried lengths in a slightly rose-tinted shade of blonde.
The next scene we see shows Gaga rocking a Snooki-style flat beehive. Paired with tumgling blonde curls, this fin-like updo isn't her finest hour.
Our next hairstyle is something we've not seen before - large barrel curls framing the face offer a pre-Raphaelite, slightly doll-esque feel. This being Gaga, however, the romantic style is contrasted with dramatic black eyeliner and brows and dark crimson lips.
Back in familiar territory, Gaga's next look sees her sporting a black bandana wrapped 80s-style around her forehead. We've seen her rock this style on numerous occasions, including a star-spangled version in the Telephone video.
Sticking with the bandana but this time a red version, Gaga looks slightly saintly with a blue shawl covering her hair.
Vamping up the religious iconography, next we see Gaga in a mitre hat, with a peekaboo panel of blonde hair styled in to a pin curl, waved across the forehead.
Is that Shakira? Nope, just Gaga resembling the South American songstress with a dramatic head of tumbling waves. Complete with crop top, this look owes more than a passing reference to the Hips Don't Lie video.
In the final main look of the video, Gaga opts for raccoon-striped hair and a wedding dress - and why not? Black bands and a matching fringe add a suitably unique twist to a layered mid-length cut.
