L'oreal professionnel presents spring/summer 2013 catwalk showcase

The L'Oreal Professionnel Catwalk Showcase 2013 was a chance for stylists to learn about the latest catwalk-inspired trends, colours and cutting techniques from the ID Artist team.
Kelly May from Cutting Crew, Freya from Electric London, Emma from Brooks & Brooks and Jamie from RUSH introduced a range of looks all inspired by natural colours and textures - flowers, leaves and trees were referenced, as well as celebrities ranging from Alexa Chung to Jane Birkin.
Each of the ID Artists created hairstyles live on stage, such as Jamie Benny's classic 50s meets 90s grunge look above. There were also a number of short videos showing the creation of L'Oreal's Nature Ombre collection by James Pecis, and highlighting L'Oreal's new Steampod styling tool.
Colour at the showcase took a subtler turn than has been seen for the past few seasons - vivid dip dyes are giving way to more natural looking ombres and highlights, while a high gloss finish is the number one priority for beautiful, on-trend hair.
When it comes to texture, it's all about enhancing what's there naturally - whether that's abundant curls or straight, shiny locks, both of which were shown on the catwalk.
Make up for the models was inspired by the runways at Prada and Giles - eyes framed with mascara, flawless complexions and a bright pop of colour on the lips. Likewise the clothes were a selection of vibrant florals, bringing a bit of sunshine to the audience before they faced the cold night outisde.
