As a not-for-profit organisation and one of the UK’s leading membership organisation and insurance provider set up to raise the level of professionalism in the beauty industry, BABTAC (British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology) tirelessly continues to campaign for the introduction of more regulation while also self-regulating their own members. All with the objective of protecting the public and giving reputable professionals the recognition they deserve.

They are pleased to announce that Keith Conniford will be joining the BABTAC and CIBTAC board. Having been in the Hair and Beauty industry all his working life, Keith has always been a strong advocate of the industry. Keith is passionate about gaining regulation and was the CEO/Registrar of the Hair and Barber Council, whose main mandate was to amend the current voluntary Act of Parliament, held in the name of The Hairdressing Council, to that of mandatory.

Keith brings with him a wealth of skills and experience including education, training, HR, and retail, further strengthening the existing BABTAC and CIBTAC board team as well as helping to continue promote the very best standards within the industry.

Of his appointment, Keith says: “For many years I have been extremely impressed with the total professionalism of BABTAC and CIBTAC organisations, led by CEO Lesley Blair at the helm. The focus and commitment they show to the beauty sector is unwavering, supporting their members and engaging government to bring about much needed change to industry regulation. I look forward to joining the board team to offer my support and guidance to ensure we can continue doing amazing work for the beauty industry.”
