We loved her denim tribute to Britney Spears, but it's probably not a look we'll be recreating - unlike Katy Perry's hair at the VMAs, which we definitely want to try.
Luckily, hair stylist Clyde Haygood of The Magnet Agency is on hand to tell us just how he achieved Katy's look, which was inspired by her Versace gown and, 'the iconic Versace girl'.
1. Spray hair with Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger HydroMist Blow-Out Spray before blow drying to give hair volume and some support.
2. Working with 2” sections, spray Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press thermal protectant spray to protect hair before curling each section
3. Aim to have the waves start in the middle (near the cheekbones) and cascade down. To achieve this, place the barrel of the Paul Mitchell Neuro Unclipped Styling Rod against hair and wrap around. Then twist the hair, wrap it around the barrel. Continue this twist and wrap technique for the length of the hair; it will keep the waves full and glamorous rather than beachy.
4. Spray the hair with Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shine Spray to give glossy shine and complete with Paul Mitchell Stay Strong Express Dry Strong Hold Hair Spray to keep the waves looking gorgeous and voluminous all night.
